Anyone remember the Trouter's Special?
On May 5, the Railway Coastal Museum held Volunteer Appreciation Day for the men and women who worked on railway and coastal boat services in Newfoundland, and who now generously give their time to enrich visitors’ experiences at the museum. By sharing their unique memories, they bring life to the museum’s exhibits and give us a better understanding of what it was like not only to work for the railway and the coastal boats, but also what it was like to live in Newfoundland and Labrador when the province relied so heavily on those services. For being so kind, generous, and helpful, we owe our volunteers much gratitude.
Our volunteers: Charlie Chaytor, June Churchill, Wayne Greenland, Larry Hickey, Graham Hill, Rod Keeping, Fabian Kennedy, Cliff Langdon, Jim Maddigan, Ron McCarthy, Alban Murphy, Charlie Murphy, Gerry Murphy, Bill Nelson, Anne Peddle, Ralph Peddle, Bill Penney, Harold Piercey, Captain Joe Prim, Joe Sheehan, Robert Stacey, and Dave Trask.
